"Weeping" moss is an overhanging, densely ramified moss. Its emerged form has some upright shots, under water "Weeping moss" develops its characteristic overhanging growth habit.
Natural History
"Weeping Moss" is said to have been imported from China. It was identified as Vesicularia ferrei by Prof. B.C. Tan (Singapore). This species is also distributed in the south of Japan. In nature it has a creeping habit and grows on wet rocks covered with sandy soil, on moist riverbanks and on wet soil on rivulets.
Pro Tips
This moss is especially suitable for attaching it to decorative driftwood, as it brings depth and contrast to any layout. Please note that the shoots of this moss hardly attach themselves to the substrate.
