Description

Anubias sp. ‘Jade’ Mini

Anubias sp. ‘Jade’ Mini is a compact, slow-growing Anubias variety valued in Aquascaping for its thick, glossy green leaves and very small footprint. This is a true mini form, noticeably smaller than standard Anubias ‘Jade’, making it ideal for nano aquariums, detailed hardscape work, and fine-scale layouts.

Growth note: Like all Anubias, this plant grows slowly and steadily. New leaves may take time to appear, but healthy plants will show firm leaves and white roots along the rhizome.
Avoid burying the rhizome—attach to rock or wood for best long-term results.

Why Aquascapers Like It

  • Much smaller than regular Anubias ‘Jade’, perfect for tight spaces
  • Thick, durable leaves that hold up well in established aquariums
  • Excellent for nano tanks, shrimp tanks, and detailed layouts
  • Low maintenance and very stable once established
  • Clean, rich green colour that complements stone and wood

Care & Placement

  • Placement: Foreground to midground, attached to hardscape
  • Planting: Do not bury the rhizome—tie or glue to rock or driftwood
  • Lighting: Low to moderate
  • CO₂: Not required, but beneficial for slightly faster growth
  • Flow: Low to moderate to keep leaves clean
  • Maintenance: Minimal—remove older leaves as needed

Aquascaping Tips

  • Use it to add detail around stone crevices or at the base of driftwood.
  • Perfect for maintaining scale in small or minimalist Aquascaping layouts.
  • Pairs well with mosses and other slow-growing epiphytes.
