The BioStyle 20 uses a combination of filtration media to help maintain clean, clear aquarium water. The included multi-stage cartridge incorporates filtration foam, chemical filtration media, and fine filter fleece.
The foam captures debris while also providing biological filtration surface area. Chemical media helps remove unwanted compounds and impurities, while the fine fleece provides a final polishing stage for smaller suspended particles.
A separate 30 PPI biological filter foam provides additional surface area for beneficial bacteria while also capturing debris passing through the filter.
A built-in flow control allows you to adjust the intensity of water movement produced by the BioStyle. This makes it easier to balance circulation with the needs of your aquarium inhabitants and planted layout.
Surface movement from the filter can also help promote gas exchange and oxygenation within the aquarium.
