Malaysian driftwood is a very dark, dense wood that is very popular due to its beautiful shape and durability. It does not have the intricate branches of some of our other driftwoods, but it still has plenty of complexity in its appearance and is very good for designing a dramatic aquascape. Wrap the wood with moss, glue down some Anubias, or stick a clump of Bucephalandra onto it.

This driftwood can leech tannins which can cause a slight yellow or brown tint to your water. This is natural, not harmful to fish, and the effects will reduce over time. Boiling the wood prior to use can decrease the tannins leeching.

Malaysian driftwood is dense and generally does not float upon initial use.
