Cryptocoryne wendtii "Red" is a variation of the standard Cryptocoryne wendtii which in turn is one of the most popular Crypts. As with other variations, it is adaptable to most conditions and the conditions in which it lives will often affect its form.
Cryptocoryne wendtii is a species of herb which is a popular aquarium plant which is native to Sri Lanka. It was described by Dutch botanist Hendrik de Wit in honour of aquarium hobbyist and writer Albert Wendt.
When grown in an open space with sufficient light the leaves will virtually lie on the bottom. In other conditions, the leaves will grow more upright.

This plant is a great value. You could easily cut this into dozens of little crypts. I planted it as a clump and it had already grown by the next morning. Not a speck of brown or melt on the clump. Happy and healthy.
