COVID-19
2020-04-16
Dear Scapers,
Its been an extremely busy week for our team and we want to take the first part of this update to thank everyone again for the continued support and business. It is very much appreciated. Now lets get to the meat and potatoes of some of the hurtles we have had over the last few weeks...
Shipping, Many of you have placed orders recently and have had shipments go out are wondering about Canada Post's tracking updates. Canada Post's web tracking and facilities are over whelmed currently, so there is a 1-2 delay in tracking updates. If it seems like your parcel tracking hasn't been updated, please be patient with us as this is the new normal until they catch up on their back log. This is why we recommend choosing our DOA option at checkout as we will cover any plants that arrive dead.
Recent Orders, If you had a tracking number update emailed to you the last digit was missing on some of the updates. Please log into your aquascaperoom account and go to the orders section. Select your recent order and near the bottom right of the page will be the updated tracking number.
Inventory and Stock, We are combing through suppliers to try and get our store fully stocked however, it's becoming more and more difficult as they rely on their suppliers as well.
Stress and Anxiety, We think its important to talk about something that we all experience and deal with and no better time to talk about it than during this global pandemic. A lot of people are out of work, stuck at home, unable to do the things they want to do. This can be stressful for everyone including young children. Aquariums are known to be a great stress and anxiety relief, so lets use this hobby to help heal. Studies have found that aquarium-watching helps reduce stress and anxiety, increase feelings of relaxation, and decrease heart rate and muscle tension. This can also be an opportunity to teach your children, spark Imagination, Encourage Relaxation, Develop an Appreciation of Nature, Encourage Scientific Exploration and Discovery and last but not least it encourages some good quality family time.
If you have any questions about anything posted here please send us an email info@aquascaperoom.ca
Please stay safe and keep scaping!

Dear Scapers,
Firstly, we want to thank each and everyone of you who have been messaging us asking how we are doing and continuing to support Aquascaperoom. It gives us a lot of encouragement during this difficult time to continue to help support our hobbyists across Canada, even if gathering supplies on our end is becoming increasingly more difficult with each passing week. We won't give up!
This weeks update is to discuss the impacts of shipping during this unprecedented time. The good news is we are continuing to ship across Canada (This can change quickly so make sure you check our shipping-calendar before placing an order). As more businesses close their doors, they're quickly adopting product shipping which is causing a back log in our Canadian couriers. We have seen some delays with our packages which is why we are no longer shipping Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We will continue to ship on Mondays only, in order to provide enough time for shipments to arrive before the weekend. Luckily the weather is favorable for plants and they can withstand the extra day or two if they happen to get delayed.
We continue to recommend upgrading to the Express 110% DOA shipping option at checkout. This will provide you with upgraded shipping as well as 110% DOA Guarantee in the event anything arrives dead.
Stay Safe and Keep Scaping.

Dear Scapers,
We hope everyone is doing well and staying safe during this extraordinary time. We want to firstly send our best wishes to those who have been affected by the COVID-19 outbreak directly and indirectly. As we continue to follow our provincial and federal direction, we will be giving weekly updates on how these new measures affect Aquascaperoom. We are currently scheduled to ship Monday March 30th and the 31st. Our Tropica product inventory will be affected as Tropica Canada will no longer be receiving shipments from Denmark after next week. We will be limited to the local stock that they grow in their own green house in British Columbia. The time frame for this change from Tropica is unknown at the moment but we will keep you updated as things change.

Dear Scapers,
With the recent COVID-19 news and the events that have us all concerned, we are updating you on how these latest developments impact Aquascaperoom. With the recent announcement of Canada restricting travel and closing its boarders to the US, our operation is becoming more negatively impacted. Our suppliers are having a harder time finding air freight space which makes bringing in new plants more difficult. Florida, parts of Europe and Asia are where the majority of our plants come from and we are afraid that they will only become harder to get.
We are still scheduled to ship packages on Monday March 23rd however, with things changing by the day, we are unsure of what will happen the following week. This means our Shipping Schedule will only be updated to the current shipping cycle.
We are in constant communication with our suppliers and we'll continue to work hard to make sure we inform our customers on any new developments that may effect Aquascaperoom. We ask that you keep in mind that with the speed of changes in government regulations, so will our situation. Please stay safe and as always, scape on!
Best Regards,
AR Team
